Announcement: Someone to introduce you to!

  • January 29, 2014

I’ve been wanting to share this bit of news for a while, but it was important that I got all of the pieces in place before I did. I am stoked to finally be able to introduce you to Missy Wise, Voice Associate at Davin Youngs Voice Inc. The truth of the matter is, there are so many of you who are excited to #SING and not just #SING but #SING on a regular basis. My schedule has been (and will continue to be) a bit nuts. But, there is now a second fantastic option for voice lessons in my studio.

You may be wondering, “Who is she?” and “What does this mean for me?” Well, let me start with “Who is she?” question. Missy Wise is an accomplished vocalist and a gifted teacher. It was very important to me that when considering someone to work along side, that I found someone who would fit the vibe of the place. What do I mean by that? Well, On any given day I’ll find myself spending one 45 minute session with an operatic aria, the next with a Rihanna tune and the following with jazz standards. This is the kind of flexibility I believe in as a teacher and a vocalist… and Missy get’s it. Not only does she get it, but she can do it. She has studied classical voice, performed in operas and musical theatre productions, but is also a singer/songwriter. In fact, check out her EP on iTunes. Pretty cool, eh? After having seen her teach, I’m excited for students to be exposed to her positive influence and insightful ear.

But then, what does this mean for you? Well, if just means you have options. If you are a current student of mine, you still are. The scheduling will work the exact same as it always has, first come first serve with lessons being posted four to six weeks in advance. But, let’s say you want a second opinion or you can’t find a time with me that works with your schedule? Give Missy a try! If you’re  a new student and want to get something going on a regular basis, I’d encourage you to give Missy a shot. Or, work with us both! It’s often a good idea in artistic endeavors to get various opinions and ideas. It can only add to the richness of your learning.

Here’s the most exciting part. In an effort to give you the opportunity to get to know Missy, she will be offering 10 free lessons on February 3rd and 4th. Yep, absolutely free. This offer is only being made available through Facebook, Twitter and the blog, so if you’d think you’d like one of those times, grab it fast!

    That’s it! That’s my news. I’m excited. Let’s #SING.
