News: Davin Youngs Voice on WCIU You & Me This Morning
June 7, 2014
A few weeks back I received a phone call from Aly Bockler of WCIU’s You & Me This Morning. She had an idea for a spot on their show and she wondered if I would be willing to be a part of it. It was meant to be a comedic piece where she would be working toward singing the 7th inning stretch at Wrigley Field. Umm, yea, I’m game! What a fun experience and great way for Davin Youngs Voice to get on TV. So, we did just that. She showed up with her camera guy and we had a lot of fun - sort of acting out a silly version of a voice lesson. The truth is, Aly can totally sing. She used to be a stand up comedian and would play guitar and sing in her act, but for television purposes it seemed a bit more fun if she acted delusional about the whole thing.
Wednesday of this week, I got to go to the studio for the airing of the clip and a little interview. It was such a great opportunity and I had so much fun. I was fully prepared to stumble over my words and be a bit of mess on live TV, but I felt absolutely comfortable and had a great time talking to Jeanne and Melissa, the show’s hosts. I’m so grateful for the experience and the nice exposure it provided here in Chicago for what Missy and I are doing at Davin Youngs Voice. So, Thanks WCIU! I hope we can hang out some more.
In the meantime, here are some behind the scenes pics taken by our awesome (second!) #SINGtern, LinLing. You’ll meet her soon.
A little Green Room action.
I didn’t see the clip until it aired live, so I was watchin’ with you all… as seen below.
But, then we had a nice chat after.
